A little girl walked through the busy city with her mother. People pushed past them talking on mobile phones, smoking, rushing.
"Where are all the people going mummy?"
"Nowhere" the mother replied.
And she was right.

A grown woman was holding her mother’s hand, as they came to cross the last street before they arrived at their destination. Many of these rushing people, these competitors of the reckless rat race, had suddenly stopped on the other side of the road, just before entering the destined building.
“Mum, why have the rushing people stopped?”
“To gain a final glance at how much others have evolved compared to them.”
“Why?”
“Because vast nothingness has the final laugh in that destined building; then they will be nothing, their evolution will mean nothing.”
“So why then are they looking at everyone else’s’ supposed progress?”
“Well, what else is there to look at?”
